Handmade in the studio, this amethyst bracelet is finished with sterling silver accent beads for a touch of sophistication. Deep purple with soft grey and clear inclusions running through it, it's a simple design that lifts any outfit and is easy to wear every day.

Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz, formed by volcanic processes within the earth's crust. It has been prized since Victorian times for that unmistakable colour and remains one of the most sought-after semi-precious gemstones. It first became known as a stone of protection against alcohol and addiction, and the Greeks carried it as a talisman against drunkenness.

It's considered a master healer and a natural tranquiliser, bringing calm, balance and peace, and it's an excellent stone for meditation and spiritual practice. Keep it by the bedside if you suffer with nightmares or insomnia. The variety used here is dream amethyst, which carries inclusions of other quartzes, largely clear quartz and sometimes smokey quartz, giving each bead its own cloudy character.

Each bracelet is made on elastic so it has a little stretch, sized to the average UK man's wrist at 7.5 inches (19cm). If you'd like a different size, just let me know when you place your order, otherwise you'll receive one at the stated size. It arrives in a branded jewellery box, and as this design is made to order, the bracelet you receive may not be the exact one photographed, though it will look almost identical.
