Aventurine is a variety of quartz with mica.  It is most commonly green but it also forms in blue, red to reddish-brown, dusty purple, orange or peach, yellow, and silver grey. It is mostly translucent and often banded but an overabundance of an included mineral may render it opaque. The colour of blue aventurine contains inclusions of dumortierite.

Blue aventurine resonates with the upper chakras and is especially stimulating to the Third Eye and Throat Chakras.  It encourages open and honest communication.

It is a calming and gentle stone with the power to heal stress and anxiety and promote tranquillity.
