White Himalayan Salt Lamps With Marble Bases
Himalayan salt is a naturally occurring salt crystal from the Punjab region of Pakistan, near the foothills of the Himalayas. The salt is collected from mines 800 meters below the ground.
The origins of Himalayan salt date back to hundreds of millions of years, when the salt was deposited in a prehistoric lagoon.
Until recently, the Himalayan salt market was fairly small but now due to its popularity, exports have grown to 400,000 tons of salt each year.
The salt, which often has a pinkish hue due to trace minerals, is primarily used as a food additive to replace refined table salt but is also used for cooking, decorative lamps and spa treatments.
Himalayan salt is said to be a natural detoxifier and stress reducer.
Some of the health benefits of Himalayan salt are said to include healthier blood sugar, lower blood pressure, a healthier respiratory system, stronger bone health, improved circulation and reduced anxiety.
